TERMS OF REFERENCE

Assistant Fish Marketing Information Officer

The Assistant Fish Marketing Information officer will assist the Fish Marketing Officer for the timely collection of marketing information and trade related data and statistics, analysis of same and dissemination of reports. In particular he/she will:

1. Maintain day to day contacts with market correspondents and resource persons to ensure adequate and relevant supply of market prices, statistics and general information of interest to the fishery industry;
2. Ensure timely submission of trade information and data and liaise with NLO’s and provide them with information on new developments and activities;
3. Maintain the Unit's data banks on production and trade related statistics, industry listings for the region, consultants data base and preparation of industry and country profiles;
4. Assist in the preparation of presentations/ lectures and write articles for publications, prepare attractive design and layout for periodicals and other promotional documentation.
5. Undertake other tasks as required by the Team Leader

Duty Station:     WINDHOEK

Duration:           12 months renewable

Qualifications

The Assistant Fish Marketing Information Officer will have been educated to University degree level. He/She will have a general knowledge and experience of the fishery industry and particular knowledge of marketing aspects within and outside the sub-region. He/She will be computer literate. He/She will be fluent in English with ability to draft and edit reports and publications. He /She will be a good communicator, able to discuss topics of interest with those in the fishery industry.

Terms and conditions

The Annual salary will be 69,088 N$ (Grade G 2 /11 on the INFOSA salary grid). Other benefits include group medical insurance and participation in the INFOSA pension scheme.
